More on Gibbs to Toyota..done deal? HOF to RCR engines? UPDATE 3 denied: hearing the decision has been made and that Joe Gibbs Racing [#11, #18, #20] will switch from Chevrolet to Toyota in 2008 and the announcement should come in early September.(8-6-2007)
UPDATE: Joe Gibbs Racing still hasn’t announced whether it will switch to Toyotas next year, but the buzz is that it will. Some clues? Tony Stewart’s souvenir trailers were selling merchandise at 50% off regular price last week at the Brickyard, Stewart’s home track and a place where the Hoosier native is wildly popular. Also, a source at Richard Childress Racing said it has been approached by Hall of Fame Racing, a satellite Gibbs team, about buying engines from the newly merged RCR-Dale Earnhardt Inc., engine operation in 2008. Presumably, HOF is hedging its bets, if it ends up not being part of a Gibbs move to Toyota.(Ford Racing)(8-6-2007)
UPDATE 2: JGR will jump from Chevrolet to the Toyota camp beginning in 2008, joining Michael Waltrip Racing, Bill Davis Racing and Team Red Bull on the list of teams running Toyota Camrys. Neither Busch nor JGR have made any official comment on the move, but Gibbs officials have already informed Hall of Fame Racing that they will not continue to provide the team with engines next season, prompting Hall Of Fame to contact Richard Childress Racing about a similar engine-supply deal for 2008.(Motorsports Soapbox)(8-6-2007)
UPDATE 3: Hall of Fame Racing officials have not been told by Joe Gibbs Racing that JGR will not provide the HOF with engines next season, nor have HOF officials contacted RCR.(8-6-2007)

Nice quote. I didn't think they were really that close at all.

I see you finally decided to check out jayski.com on this as I had suggested.

As for the "jerk just to be a jerk" comment you've got to be kidding me. It was an innocent enough question that you didn't have to get all worked up over.

But you did, as you always do.

In other words, when saying something that other people don't already know, you need to provide a link. It took SS saying something before you did.

I hope that those Japanese Rice Rockets stick a big fat **** in American Muscle Alltogether. I am so sick and tired of effin Rednecks talkin about how nothing compares to the power of American Muscle. NEWSFLASH a good race car relies on so much more than HP. Sure you can go straight really fast, but how do you handle? Oh, I will answer that for you "SHITTY"!

Don't worry, it won't happen, Toyota is the shit of nascar. Toyota might be able to drop the MPG though...LOL.

Wait and see. In about 5 years Pontiac, Dodge, and Ford will all be scratching their heads.

Well, Pontiac doesn't even race anymore, so they are already scratching. LOL.
Chevy is dominant, and will be for quite some time.
IF, and that's a huge if, Toyota gets it right in 5 years, then everyone will switch and JGR will have suffered as a guinea pig while Hendrick wins the whole thing!

Thanks for the Pontiac insight. I guess that is who TOYOTA replaced? I doubt that JGR will suffer, they will be competative. Each year other teams will follow.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Kyle Busch Heading To Joe Gibbs Racing

I'm not too fond of this switch to Toyota by JGR. However, I have confidence in the guys driving the #s 20, 11, and 18, and if anyone can make a push for Toyota, it's JGR. I don't think they'd make this kind of deal without knowing what they were getting into...once one of these guys wins the Cup, it'll be cup by 3 different engine manufacturers (Pontiac, Chevy, Toyota) for JGR.
