Re: Commanders 2025 Offseason Thread

Agree, and if AP isn't all over the situation in Cincy like a rash I'd be surprised. It's also why I think there's no talk of approaching Clowney. Aside from teh fact he'd have to be a locker room fit for AP and DQ to consider him, it wouldn't make sense to make a move for him now, then do a deal with Cincy. For me, it's take care of your #1 target scenario 1st then fall back on #2. Clowney has been available for 5 days now and nobody looks like signing him. There's at least 1 reason for that and in many teams cases, multiple reasons. Nobody is in a rush and we shouldn't be either.

I would give up 3rd round pick for him.

At 30yo I tend to agree a 3rd, possibly a low 2nd is reasonable. Especially given his contract demands with Cincy then become our demands.

Keep in mind we don't have a 2nd next year, and we all hope our 3rd is a low one. I wonder if there is any possibility of a player swap. Not sure Cincy who would accept though

I should have been clearer. I'm suggesting a low 2nd in value. In reality, if we don't plan to trade down (or up?) into rd 2 next year, the trade for him would include a pick swap, like our 1st for him and their 2nd and 3rd maybe?

Payne and a 4th rounder for Hendrickson.

More tension with Cincy and Hendrickson and even head coach:

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profoo...-text-exchange

Article says he won't play for them this year under present contract.

Would any of you trade for D Watson in a cap dump trade if the pick was a 1st rounder? (Figure it would have to be at least a 1st given how big the cap hit would be).

And create a bigger hole in our run defense? No thanks.

One downside would be it could complicate extending McLaurin.

Lol just that time of year. Still want to know if Peters is going to do anything about edge or more defense. Starting to doubt it at least for now. At least rush defense should be better. Really need Kinlaw to work out and reach his high potential.

Looking at some of the OTA clips and one thing that stood out, Debo looks like a fullback. LOL.

He has great power. He's on one of the most powerful players I've seen at wr which is a huge reason his yac is so good. He's also got great vision and good speed. Always loved his game and stoked we got him. He should be especially motivated in a contract year.

Idk, he's looks way too chubby to me. He doesn't look like he will run away from any NFL corners. They're going to have to call 10 wr screens a game to get him the ball.
