For me it boils down to - I'm not a believer in anything on this current roster, and I'm not a believer that for some reason one of the top QBs like Watson, Wilson, etc. is going to want to come to this shit show... So targeting a Veteran upgrade who was highly touted coming out of college just four years ago, someone with something to prove, with a clean slate, and potentially more weapons than he has previously had, is ok with me. |

All I'm saying is maybe the Bears gave up on him too early, didn't coach him up, he was in the wrong system, didn't have enough experience, etc. Either way, it sounds like they were willing to bring him in, and still might be. I'd take a flyer on a young QB with a winning record, and who has taken two teams to the playoffs in the past four years. He didn't put those teams on his shoulders, that Bears defense had a lot to do with it, but he was the starting QB for both of those teams. For me that counts, and like I said we haven't seen the same QB take this team to the playoffs since 1992. |
