For personal smoking amounts we are talking about a gram, or 1/8, ounce is either long term consumption of weed, or for selling.

I'm sure he was going to smoke it with friends, and 1.8 ounces will go quickly when a lot of people are smoking and playing ps3 or something...not that I know that or anything.
