Honestly though, I would be just as apt to go for trading Davis. I just don't think with all the upgrades we need, we should keep two starting caliber TEs on the roster unless they decide to go to two TE sets next season.


Yeah, I agree with you. I don't really even see the need for two tight ends that in my mind are both really solid players. I don't even look at it as Cooley having an off year. With how much of a unified team effort football is, when an entire offense is struggling it's rare for one player to continue to have great seasons. It's like expecting great games from running backs with no line. Put Cooley or Davis back in a well balanced and effective offense and I think they're both really good. But do we need 2 of those at tight end or would it be better to grab a mid/late round draft pick and draft another Brandon Banks type or an under valued receiver like Colston, who I think went in the 6th or 7th to New Orleans?
