NFL.com - NFC East loaded with unheralded linebackers

Washington Redskins linebacker Rocky McIntosh brought up a good point this week when discussing how he and fellow linebacker London Fletcher play in relative anonymity despite garnering 100-plus tackles apiece for the NFL's fourth-ranked defense in 2008.

"Our defense was one of the best in the league and most people don't know that either," he said. "I can assure you this, the guys who we play against know who (him and Fletcher) are. That's for sure."

Fletcher is comically underrated. He is a top 4 MLB over the last 9 years and hasn't once made the probowl. That is astounding.

Yeah he reminds me of another Redskin LB. Chris Hanburger. Hanburger is robbed yearly of a HOF selection. Fletcher is robbed yearly of a Pro Bowl selection. Cant our Redskin LBs get any love?

Part of the problem is that he's being mentioned in the same light as McIntosh.

There's no doubt in my mind that the duo of Rocky Mac and Fletch are underrated. But that's 98% Fletch and the rest Rocky Mac.

Yeah, he's Ken Anderson-type underrated.

Id agree with that. Fletchers "underratedness" is on a completely different level than any other LB in that article.

I cant wait to see how good Fletcher can be with a monster like Haynesworth in front of him. I agree I think this is the year Fletcher makes it. Im stoked.

See this is the type of stuff that freaks me out. Why just a few days ago when I was writing a post for the NFC East time by position I got to thinking that the NFC East has a lot of "no name" linebackers after looking at the depth charts on the Espen. Now they write an article about it. I sware man someones watching me.
