Draftpicks

I know its early but I want to know who would u guys like to see here in the offseason thru the draft in a skins jersey. If it was my decision I think I'd like to see LSU Defensive end Marcus Spears, and/or Tightend Adrew Clarke of the University of Toledo. We also need a compliment to Griffin, some backup corners, safeties, and offensive linemen. so post what ya like to see

Cool

I'd like to see Elton Brown from Virginia. He is a BEAST. He's probably the best O Lineman in the country. At 6'6'' 330+, he could sure open some holes for Portis. We also need some D-Line help.

Dline has gotta be the top priority, and I'm saying Erasmus James is the guy. If we had a legitimate speed pass rusher up front I think our d could start to approach 02 bucs and 00 ravens levels. still, if a studd o lineman is sitting there I wouldn't object to drafting him.

That probably explains why he weighs over 330 pounds!

The draft is ( I think) a little devoid of dominant D-linemen, but I guess the best out there are Antajj Hawthorne of Wisconsin, Mike Patterson of USC, Rodrique Wright of Texas, and anyone from Miami. Or, we could take a gamble in later rounds and get Chris Canty from Virginia.

A guy like Canty always seems to get overlooked and ends up being a quality player. I don't think he was high on anyone's list before he got hurt so he is completely invisible now. He is a big guy...like 6'7" but needs some weight. Basic finesse player with speed. I'd love to get him in like the 4th or 5th round.

Good ole Mel Crapper of ESPN seems to think the DE crop is pretty deep even when just considering the seniors. We HAVE to go DE this year. I mean I swear to god if we ignore DE for the third year in a row I will shoot Gibbs myself. And no free agency on this thing. Who was the last big name DE free agent who had an impact on his team much at all? I can't name anyone who had more than a one year effect on the field. Now the salary cap is different. I can think of lots of DEs stealing pay checks after a big time free agency deal.

I think our draft need's this year will focus on the line's of both sides of the ball, I wouldn't be surprised if we looked for another big athletic saftey, Williams defense seem's to really utilize the safties as far as blitzing, even though I have been impressed with Clark, and Bowen will be coming back I could see us going after a very fast LB and converting him, then we will see some real punishment going on in the secondary.

I don't know if any of you saw the VATech game last night, but they have a nice DE by the name of Davis (not sure what his first name is) who has been playing really well lately. He can rush the passer and and is a good run stopper.

His name, I believe, is Jim Davis. If DE is at question, then definitely that Pollack guy grom Georgia is THE man. Even when Auburn was cruising against them last Saturday, he still shined. Just can't remember his first name. There's also Dan Cody of Oklahoma and another guy from USC who's pretty good but I can't remember his name.

Last year I was Taylor guy from day one and this year I will be an Erasmus James guy all the way!!! I have seen him play 3 or 4 games and he has been dominating. He is even causing problems when he is double teamed. During the PSU game alone he had two sacks, one taking out Micheal Robinson who is a MASSIVE qb, listed at 6'2" 230 but i have seen him in person and he is definatly pushing mid 240's. I do like Hawthorne the DT from Wisconsin but he has had a pretty quiet year even with the double teams on James. I also was a huge Pollack fan but he has not lived up to his hype in my opinion. Marcus Spears might be a good pick up but he might be moved to DT since he is 6'3" 300lbs and so quick. Since our DT's are playing so tough I say we look more towards a DE since Wynn is getting old and is a big cap number and Daniels can't seem to stay healthy even dating back to last year with the Bears. I wouldn't be suprised if Gibbs did look at an O-lineman even though he took 2 late in last years draft.

O Line and defensive backs. Maybe a mid (3rd/4th round) pick on a DE. Too often are they busts. We need O line and more defensive backs.
