Re: All-Pro Football 2K8
I have heard about this and I just don't like the concept. Playing as a fake team with retired players is just not appealing to me. I think 2k would have been better off resurrecting itself as a college game.

Yes if I am going to make up a fake team It would be named the Warpath and the MalcomConnection would be it's QB.

Re: All-Pro Football 2K8
I think 2K Football will offer what Madden refuses to deliver. There is little evolution with Madden. After they purchased the exclusive NFL deal which sabotaged competitor 2K (which many people lose jobs over) there worries were over. The pressure was lifted to deliver a serious football game and make strides to better itself. Now we have games that gravitate towards appealing to anyone especially the younger crowd. Making it elementary in game play b/c it is the only game on the market while holding back resources, buying time till the exclusive deal expires, and begin to try and recover the 300 hundred million dollars EA spent to eliminate for their rival 2K for 5 years. Big fish eats little fish in this corporate ocean.
2K Football is going to offer straight up football for the hardcore fans of the sport taking it back to realism of X's and O's. I dont think much has been leaked out about the annual football games b/c they slowly build momentum as summer approaches. Both are set to release on the same day. I know I will buy the 2k game first b/c Madden is constantly a disappointment. 2K8 football will be the beginning of rebuilding the franchise towards the ultimate goal of providing the best possible football game experience which w/ little consumer protest eluded us for who knows how long (maybe for forever if this type of corporate sabotage is sanctioned by the NFL). As more announcements are made I highly suggest supporting 2K b/c EA has been coasting by w/o competition by default and not investing the open market to win us over w/ respect towards the franchise. We may see EA begin to care about their product after 2K makes some noise after a year or two and certainly before the deal expires but I urge those who care to see through it. Like everything in life homework is needed for consumers. Watch who recieves your money. If $ is given to bad people that empower you who you depend on, and you wonder why things arent getting better finding the guilty person is easy. This spans from gas, food, school, drugs, games, and yes terrorism. Oh, and bad movie directors and producers. I will relinquish my stance on the soapbox for now. |

Re: All-Pro Football 2K8
HAha, it does suck or at the time wasnt as good as Madden but since Madden has REGRESSED. I am a Madden head. Just frustrated with them. They want to appeal to the less hardcore for some reasons stated. But as soon as 2K built a reputation, delivered 1st person football, and cut into Maddens sales numbers those corporate exec's put on their blask masks and got gangsta. Thats not cool. Thats not when men do, they boast how successful they are after they burned down their rivals company. Thats not respectful. What if the team the Skins are playing get purchased by Snyder and he disbans them and we get a win from that... we dont deserve to benefit surely not to continue singing we are the champions thats theft and fraudulent. Thats business terrorism when you break it down. I wonder how much former NFL commisioner Paul Tagliabue profited off that??? Than he retires afterwards, hmmmmm..... I wonder.

I'll pick it up... I was playin 2k3 on xbox because you couldn't play madden online at the time on xbox...
it does suck, though that its going to be 60 bucks... last time they released a 2k game it was only 20 dollars...

Re: All-Pro Football 2K8
I really liked this year's 360 Madden the more I played it. I thought the gameplay was really rewarding and realistic. The lack of features was frustrating but the game itself I thought was promising.

Re: All-Pro Football 2K8
I still got a PS2, I am waiting for the PS3's price to drop a little bit. I have never owned an XBOX and I never will. Bill Gates already has enough of my money. Needless to say I haven't played Madden on it either.

Re: All-Pro Football 2K8
I was a big fan if the 2k football series, and very upset when I found out that EA sports bought the rights to the NFL. But I am very excited about the release of this game. IMO Madden is nothing more than just roster updates. Nothing that great. It is pretty bad when you are playing Madden 06 and your running back still sticks to the o-linemen when he is trying to hit a hole. Where as in NFL 2K3 if the runningback hit the backside of an o-linemen he would shuffel or push off to hit the hole, more realistic play IMO...

Re: All-Pro Football 2K8
I'll consider the game. But unfortunately I will probably get madden even though I hate the series and EA Sports.
Although, If DGreen and the Posse are in the game... I've always liked Gameday and 2k series more than madden. I've always thought the game play was better. |
