I think this will be good in the long run for Maryland. Basketball will be fine, I assume there will still be an ACC-Big 10 Challenge? I think Maryland Basketball is rebuilding and reloading; they should be competitive in the next couple of years. Football-wise, I really don't know what will happen, but we are already a joke in that sport. The Big 10 wins big here by having access to a big TV market; possibly even bigger with the addition of Rutgers. |
Well as Scott Van Pelt said, it's all about football. Basketball is good but it doesn't even come close to generating the type of revenue football does. However it worked out the Big 10 seemed to assure Maryland that they would never have to worry about ending the year in the red regardless of how they play.

Step 3: Profit!
