To say he just happened to be there when ESPN started is akin to saying Matty just happened to be there when this website began. Berman's been as instrumental as anyone in building ESPN.
My feeling is similar to what many of his current and ex colleagues, unbelievable respect for what he's done and the paths he laid down for people like myself, but it's probably time for him to hang up the mic

Fair enough. My point was originally that i cant stand to listen to him. He grates on my nerves and he is just bad. That clip of him just didnt help my opinion. However i am sure the man is not a total d-bag. We all have our moments. So point taken and nice to know he is actually pretty nice. As for the being there in the beginning well i just meant that his position greatly out weighs his credentials. Im taking it that you work for espn or in the sports world. That is awesome.
