He also said Shanahan is looking at it like this, whats the point of saving all these future picks, if his future here is donzo for next year, should he fail with a less quality player (Tannehill for example), than with a high energy-high quality player like RG3 who could bring your team to a winning record. Shanny also knows that snyder likes the big name. If us fans are going ''ahh tannehill'' snyder will here and agree and put Shanahan on a tighter lesh. If its RG3 the fans will like it based on potential, and snyder will like it because its a big name that will put fans in the seats, and it will certainly buy shanahan longer time here in DC. The High quality/potential guy will buy him time, the low quality guy won't.

As for other tid-bits he told me.

I asked him about Matt Flynn, he said he hasn't heard much about him.

Asked about Andrew Luck, he said we all like him, but we all know he's Indy bound.

I asked if we can trade or cut Dhall, he gave me a tight-lipped politically correct answer.
This year's 1st and 2nd and next year's 1st and 3rd? I'd be OK with that as long as they can land a true #1 in free agency and some O-line help. The RBs and TEs are plenty talented.... at least enough to make the Offense productive with good QB play.

They'd still have 6 picks this year and I believe 7 next year. They've shown they can find some solid players in the mid to late rounds. They could still bring Rex back and draft another QB late or bring in an undrafted guy.

But couldn't Cleveland trump our offer with 2 first round picks THIS year? We'd need them to make a run at Flynn.
