I hate to bring unfounded optimism to the table, but did any of you guys notice that the Redskins gave up a GRAND total of 0 points in the first quarter this preseason? Pittsburgh....the Ravens....the Colts.....these are not
terrible teams! Yes, the first quarter of preseason is a good indicator of how far along you are. Anyone remember how we use to look
very bad in the first quarter of preseason, only to come back later and win in the 4th? [Spurrier] That was a very bad omen, and a good look into how we really stacked up against the competition. How about under Marty? We looked flat and discombobulated. [can't believe I spelled that word correctly!]
I didn't see LL on the field....anywhere. I saw Reed Doughty all over the place and filling in more than adequately as a replacement, though. I saw lots of pressure - QB's running for there lives. I saw Swarming LB's and a D-line that pushed people around like it was closing time.
Having Landry would be nice....we don't HAVE to have him though, you have that luxury when you have a good, young, DEEP team.
