I don't think planting is irrelevant to QB'ing since the QB uses the whole body to throw. A slight difference body part positioning is very likely to affect how the ball is going to come out.

I don't have a horse in this race as I don't know any of the QBs well enough, but I did think what Mayock pointed was interesting.

Your first paragraph sounds like a quote from Hal the computer in the movie, "2001, A Space Odyssey".

So, would you agree that in essence Mayock was saying that patience is a virtue when thinking of drafting Locker. I hear project in what you said Mayock mentioned when talking about Locker's delivery.

The reason I mentioned the word "project" is because throwing a pass with ill-advise lower half technique is a time learning concept than say, a shoulder throwing technique. Meaning that the upper body motion is easier to correct with practice. Which in itself is less cumbersome.
