the part i dont agree with is the comment that ovie shouldnt have to back check on 5 on 5. in playoff hockey, all 5 skaters must back check and mark their man. if ovies guy is past the blue line, ovies butt better be past the blueline.
i would also start theo, i wouldnt have switched goalies half way thru game 1 either but thats bruce's call and hes been making pretty good ones so far.
id just like to welcome all the new (i wont call ya bandwagon) caps fans they have gained over the past few years, playoff hockey actually kinda sorta looks like how hockey is supposed to look. you know, pre-1998 rule changes to compliment the russian speedsters like pavel bure, teammu selanne and make hockey more exciting for americans.
you crash the net, you back check your ass off and dont take stupid penalties.

Yeah, when Ovie's man is past the blueline, he should be back checking. But, when the puck is in the zone still and Green is pinching in - Ovie shouldn't have to fill that blue line position.
I know what you mean about the bandwagon fans. I've been playing hockey for close to 17 years. I played for UMD, and grew up in Frederick playing for the Phantoms turned Fury. It's tough to see all of these people who act like they've been caps fans and have followed the team forever. But, hey - at least they can't say our fanbase is weak anymore...haha.
Its bound to happen when a team gets good...you know?
