Not all 4-3 defenses are created equal. Blache rushes the Sam a lot, hence the comparison. He uses that player as a rush player more than most 4-3 coordinators. That is why Aaron Maybin's skill set would also have worked, but luckily Buffalo jumped on him at #11 and let Orakpo slide since Maybin was a much less proven commodity. It is also why they were thinking of moving Jason Taylor to that position prior to releasing him (they did it a little in the 2nd Philly game with Taylor as well, why they did not do it more during the season I have no idea). We've actually had all of these conversations before, including mentioning players who moved from 4-3 end in college to 4-3 Sam in the pros (Marcus Washington, Mathias Kiwanuka).
