I'm not picking on you, sandtrap, but the concept that you mentioned: if you raise the scoreboard it becomes inoperable? That is one of the dumbest things that I have ever read.
Here's why: no backup plan. It had to have occurred to someone that the screens might turn out to be too low. An intelligent person, armed with $1.2 billion, would then plan the screens so that they could be moved up, if they proved to be an obstacle.
Yet, armed with $1.2 billion, Jerry had no backup plan other than do-overs.
Putting in screens which work at only one, problematic height is pure stupidity.
