Which is really all this boils down to. There's legitimate doubt about the quality of the player we drafted. There would be doubt no matter who drafted him. The Redskins have earned their reputation to overpay for mediocre talent, like it or not.
The counter-argument to this is that reputation doesn't mean crap in the long run, and that we'll either get good value on this pick or we won't just like any other team. Count me as legitimately skeptical of the pick, but without a strong Devin Thomas-type argument that it shouldn't have been made. Just a bad feeling that we're overhyping a late-round talent.

I understand what you're saying Tripp. I also had doubts. But the more I think about it, it could turn out to be a good move. Perhaps even a great move. From all reports, even the Eagles were bidding for him. That doesn't neccessarily make me any more sure of his talent, but it does mean that we weren't the only ones who believe he was worth picking. Whether others thought he wasn't worth a higher pick, or were just gambling that they would have the high bid is unknown, but I think it was worth the risk.
