Re: Samuels Agrees to Restructured Deal
The Redskins are clearing more cap room by restructuring contracts than I had anticipated. I did not count on them extending players, I expected restructures. But by doing extensions instead, they are clearing more cap room.
This means either:
- They can afford to keep Springs and Jason Taylor at their current cap numbers, and have a modest free agency push.
- They can extend other players (like Griffin, Moss, Rabach and Smoot), keep Taylor and Springs at current cap numbers, and make a major push in free agency.
We'll see.
