Gibb's was convinced that he had to throw the quick passes to protect Ramsey from Phill'y blitzing. He thought that he could throw them until the corners were ready to jump them and then set up the longer pass.

Gibb's offenses always have been built around short efficient plays that bring up the defensive corners up. Then, about three or four times a game, he will throw the long ball. When the offense works, we hit the long ball 3 out of 4 times, we don't shoot ourselves in the foot with penalties, and we convert on third down.

I'm frustrated too, but I really think that Gibb's is methodically working on finding that core group of plays that consistantly give him 5-7 yards 80% of the time. What made the old teams so good was that Gibb's had a handfull of plays where he could just line up, show you what he was going to do, and dare you to stop it. If he can ever find those plays, and stop the stupid penalties, we will be back in the playoffs.
