Re: Hall agrees to one year deal with skins
I think this is a great deal and a win-win situation for all parties involved.
- The Redskins get depth at the CB position, getting a talented DB for a fairly cheap $$
- Hall gets the chance to prove himself in the NFL's toughest conference
- If Hall works out, we can consider keeping him; if he leaves for bigger $$ we get a compensatory pick
- If Hall doesn't work out, he's still an improvement over Torrence or Tryon
- Low investment, low risk, high rewards if things work out
I think people forget the old Redskins that would have signed (or re-signed) the likes of JT, Alexander, and D. Hall for big money. We have taken advantage of situations in which we have gotten talented players for cheap, with low risk involved.
Although we sit at 6-3, the team needed to do something different that would hopefully change something within the team to help us overcome these mediocre showings against bad teams and poor showings against the Steelers and NY Giants. Hopefully rest will help with our injuries, and acquiring Hall gives us a stronger defense.
Does anyone know if Hall can field punts? If so, we should give the guy a chance to return punts as well.
