There you go. Now your getting what you wanted...them to name someone.

1. The reason we did not have a really good list of candidates for HC is because usually the GM would be doing this. Probubly making lists every year and updating them in case of sudden HC changes(as with Gibbs). No real GM to real list.

2. A lot of you keep bringing up how all the hatred toward Fassel is a direct result of GM being let go or not getting the HC job and that we all would have simply accepted him in 04. Sorry I was not one who wanted him in 04. When he was brought up this time I looked elsewhere until he seemed to be the only coach with experience of being a HC and figured he would only be a figure head with the coordinator positions already picked. Then Mooch was brought into the picture...I was not even thinking of him until he was mentioned. I did like him because it would be a good match having an offensive minded HC to help out a first time OC. Plus they both know the WC. I learned that Fassel may have been in the WC also and may know that style as well. He would not be a bad choice but I still prefer Mooch over Fassel.

3. Where were all you people when the polls were happening. It seemed there was an overwhelming population that wanted Mooch over Fassel per the 75% who picked Mooch. Now everyone is .."oh well Fassel is not bad." "Why does everyone not like Fassel?" "Fassel is the man." lol. ok I made up the last one.

I guess the DS hold out has worked in his favour. Hold out long enough and the people will be glad he hired anyone.

4. DS has messed this whole HC hiring up. I would almost love to see everyone turn him down at this point. If all he wants is a figure head as a coach then he should just stand on the side lines himself. Atleast he could boast to Jerry Jones that he made it there before JJ did. lol.

Theres no wonder why people are hessitant to take this job. Who on gods green earth would want to interview for 10-12 hours? Oh don't get me wrong the money is a big motivator but one would have to guess that there would be many more 10-12 hour meetings every year. Perhaps thats not the case but if I was an outsider I would be thinking " Nah....he might be having marathon meetings all the time. Not for me."

So now who do we have left? Fassel, Mooch, and Meeks. I'm betting he is out picking up Fassel right now. It's not rocket science. He wanted him in 04 and he wanted him in 08. He spoke with Fassel and picked up most of the coordinators he requested. These were Fassels choices. Meeks has no HC abilities yet. His defensive schemes would probubly not co exist with Blache's (which is why I think Spag did not take the job.) Now your stuck with Mooch or Fassel and as I'm sure Mooch would probubly take the job(even if DS had to throw money at him to come out East) and he worked for Holmgren also. Something to commiserate about. However if you think about it Fassel makes sence. Everyone's fire about not hiring him has fizzled. If he leads the team into the play offs then DS is a master mind( he looks good.) If Fassel fizzles as his popularity did and goes no where then DS can look at all the possibilities available next year including Cowher.

I'm still holding out hope Mooch gets it. He's a tad younger. Knows the Holmgren branch of the WC. Coached Farve. Is a QB coach also and can help out Zorn while he is working with the other units..ie WR, RB, OL and TE. Yes he is a QB coach but a coordinator will have to make sure all the other units are understanding the offensive scheme also. Observe the other units and decide which players should start. He possibly can't be with JC through the whole training camp.

Mooch has a hotter looking wife.
