Media and advertising execs sit around having conversations about how to attract more people to the telecasts who aren’t that into the sport (those ppl are already watching). Their audience size is never enough. So they add all this superfluous bullshit that just pisses off true fans.
Instead, they should be focusing on the game and explaining things that make audiences understand and appreciate the sport. My wife has been watching baseball with me for 10 years now and she wants to know why the bunt wasn’t on with no outs, not how did the previous batter “feel about that hit” or how many tix the player was able to get for his family.
