Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
From The Athletic (and I think this is fair, and the thing I am probably worried about the most):
Washington Commanders
Has the offensive line improved enough?
“Enough” acknowledges some boost from the team moving on from last season’s older starting guards — Andrew Norwell will be released once healthy — and adding new personnel. Yet, virtually no Pro Bowl potential exists among the starters, and only left tackle Charles Leno is a definitive steady option. Let’s see how new right tackle Andrew Wylie (nine sacks allowed in 2022) performs with Sam Howell behind him instead of Super Bowl MVP/QB magician Patrick Mahomes, or Sam Cosmi takes to right guard duties or free-agent signee Nick Gates thrives at center or if the left guard battle between Saahdiq Charles and Chris Paul produces a definitive or default victor. Rookie center Ricky Stromberg and fourth-round tackle Braeden Daniels might be long-term answers, but 2023 may turn into redshirt seasons. Washington needs robust work from the OL right away. — Ben Standig
