I think it's "putrididity".
The Dallas vs. Philly debate reminds me a lot of a college basketball parallel. My father went to Duke, so I've been bred with a preternatural disdain for UNC. When the Maryland program had their great run a few years ago and UNC was on the schneid, the Maryland fans I know said that they were Duke's rivals now. Duke fans thought the Terps may have been a better team, but that doesn't make you a rival. UNC and Duke will always be rivals, like Dallas and Washington. There may be spirited competition between other franchises, but if you only get one rival, you can't change it because one side or the other slips.
When Jimmy Johnson took over the Cowboys, they promptly went 1-15. The season was a success, because the "one" was the Redskins. Would the same be true if the Eagles were the team they beat? I doubt it. We have a chance to sweep the Eagles this year. Though I hope it happens for playoffs sake, will I tell my children about it like I did Monday morning when I got home? Not likely. We swept the
Cowboys. This was a very good year.
