Safeties (McCain and Collins) were waaay too deep, and Bostic didn't help matters as he seemed out of position. That was far too easy of a completion.
By the way, I listened to the post game show, of course from Sunday, yesterday. Fred Smoot basically stated what I was saying in the game thread during the game. He said we was beaten by the pen, meaning the chalkboard and x's and o's, versus just being physically out whipped. And, I agree.
Smoot thought JDR should have sent more blitzes between the A and B gaps to help nullify the Chargers and Herbert's quick passing, as many of the Chargers' plays were to negate our pass rush and take advantage of matchups and their playmakers. Once again, things I stated in the game thread as it was obvious what they were doing IMO.
They schemed us well for the most part, and Smoot, in so many terms, wasn't happy with JDR's game plan. Sunday's loss was more on coaching than anything else, and I think a handful of others on this forum practically said as much.
Lastly, Kam Curl only played 37 snaps whereas Landon Collins played 65. I hope that was a case where Curl may have been cramping as some players (ie, Fuller, Young, Sweat, and a couple others) tapped out a few plays due to early season conditioning or not being conditioned. With that being said, Curl needs more snaps.
