I dont know a lot about CRT and have been actively resisting the urge to read up on it bc I do think republicans are making this seem like some huge real threat .. when its just a college theory that isnt being taught in public schools
I want my kid to know about slavery and the Civil Rights Movement.
I dont want my public schools, even at HS level, teaching sociologist theories. I think CRT would be very interesting to have learned in college. I do believe in systemic and institutional racism. but save the theology for college level discussion imo.
That General who answered Gaetz question .. he had a really good answer. He said Americans attacked the US Capitol on January 6, he wants to understand where that white rage is coming from .. bc its a significant percentage of Americans that feel that way .. and he thinks its important for Americans to try and understand why and where its coming from.
He sd there is nothing wrong reading a Marx or Lenin book to try and understand them .. reading the book doesnt magically make you a communist. Knowledge is knowledge.
If a percentage of americans are so pissed off that they stormed the US capitol building, which has never been done in modern era, ... he has an obligation and duty to try and find out why.
