The goal is to eliminate suburbs. So rather than improve the lives of people who live in crappy places, the goal is to destroy the lives of people who live in nice places. Why would you want to do that? There’s a very clear political reason. Suburbs are typically purple politically. Republicans win as often as Democrats. If your goal was to make America a one-party state, you’d Republicans can win just as Democrats can but if your goal is to make the country a one-party state, you want to change this. You want to make suburbs into cities and if you did that, you’d win every time.

Low income people are being pushed out of cities they lived generations in because of gentrification and big money builders buying up low income land, tearing it down and building these huge mixed use development condos with Wegmans and Starbucks on the street level and million dollar yuppie condos above.

Low income people were and are forced to the burbs to find affordable housing.

BUT .. Obama and all these democrat cities like Washington DC WANT the low income city residents to not be displaced to the burbs but to stay in the city .. thats why DC gave the Wharf developers incentives in to include affordable housing units.

Cities are TRYING to retain their generational residents ... not have them be displaced by big money developers who look to serve the gentrified starbuck sippers.

Anyone who buys the BS tucker carlson spits out is a fucking idiot.

He just looks to flame the "white rage" flame.

This is noting but pure dog whistle race identity politics ...
Setting identity politics aside, should the federal government be able to force zone law changes on municipalities using road/highway construction funds as leverage?

Absolutely not. It’s bad faith, big federal government overreach.
