Math?
There is a HUGE difference between touching base and making serious inquiry. Do I think a third (or even a quarter

) of the league is genuinely interested in trading real assets for more interceptions and fumbles? No. But you can feel free to believe the NY media, if you wish. Half the league is in the market for QB to some degree. For reportedly half of those teams to not even do due diligence on this guy for market price purposes speaks volumes. A team calls and says "Looking at a possible change at backup QB, and would like a guy with some starting experience in the NFL, what are you looking to get back for Darnold?" "A mid-to-late first rounder." "Click." That is a contact.
I'm trusting RR here. I pray we don't make such a big mistake. We rid ourselves of Haskins and have the opportunity to progress and take advantage of the window our defense presents us with. Darnold would be a step backwards. My God, the Jets have given up on the guy. Trade a first rounder for him? Good grief.
