Brand image is just as part of free market as $. Right now the brand imagery of the Redskins on the NFL is not positive. You can thank DS and his lack of business acumen for that. The Native American mascot imagery is not favorable for myriad of reasons. Some of that can also be blamed on DS handling of the situation.

Investors who are inexplicably capitulating to the mob. Never a let a good crisis go to waste. That is not the Free Market. That is appeasement. The Redskins are but one example.
The Market is you and I plus the rest of the NFL fandom. And evidence has already indicated that the vast majority of the population could possibly care less.
The Redskins brand is very positive. They are one of the oldest teams in the league and have produced some great players. Their helmet logo was designed by a Native American.
Snyder certainly could have handled it better, no doubt. But he was not even born when the team was named the Redskins.
