I agree. I think we do need a savy vet for 1 year that can find the soft spots, know when its a hot route and all those little things that make a young Qb comfortable.

I imagine he wont be more than 3-5M.

Only concern is injury history and availability.

Since we are talking TEs. I feel like we are all assuming Reed is going to retire but he is set to make 10.3M (1.8M signing bonus) and 8.75M in 2021.

I guess if he retires and files that paper work, he gives up that 1.8M. Im torn, I loved his potential, he showed loyalty sigging that LTD ... but hes been paid handsomely by a per snap basis. I feel like the Skins dont owe him anything .. if anything in a moral and perfect world he would retire and forgo the 1.8M as a tip of the hat to Skins ...

I guess we pay him the 1.8M and he retires or we pay him the 1.8M and cut him.

Any chance at all we bring him back and roll the injury dice on a potential 10.3M cap hit?

im guessing Reed doesnt retire, "stays on", forces us to cut him, he pockets 1.8m then goes and signs a 1 year deal with another team (with much of the money bonus-based dependent on him being on the active roster).
