Portis was on Cooley the other day, he apparently evaluates the RB position for the team (who knows how much weight is given to his opinion).
He said Guice was the only other RB with a 1st round grade besides Barkley.

Adrian Peterson was my favorite player in the NFL for a long time; I say that because i'm a guy that likes and believes in the RB position. I like this group of RBs.
But I know I'm a broken record on this and really actually try not to bring it up myself. Imho I don't see the point in drafting a RB high because I believe that Jay runs a system that doesn't feature the RB in a way that schematically maximizes their ability.
I think the biggest improvement in the run game will come from the 1) overall improvement of the LG and Center positions 2) health of the OL + RBs 3) improvement of the depth of the OL + RB 4) better weapons on the outside
Just 2 years ago Football Outsiders rated the run offense as #4 and that was with Fat Rob and Matt Jones.
Imo the difference was the OL stayed healthy, Kelly stayed healthy AND there were legit threats at the outside WR spots.
