Murphy - Back up OLB, now getting paid starting money.

Long - solid player, no superstar. Had been replaced by Roullier at center and Scherff at RG. Probably a transitional starter for at most another year with Roullier taking over and Long becoming a back-up.

Breeland - Starting corner, up and down career, getting solid starter money.

Grant - 4th string WR now getting paid starting money.


So we lost two so-so starter and two good back-ups and all got solid starter money. I mean, sure, it would be great to have them back particularly Murphy and Breeland, but that's the nature of the game these days. Teams with good talent have their back-ups poached by others willing to overpay them.

We have young back-ups for all but Long and I suspect we will find a plug and play vet to serve in his place.
