I'd rather see them pump cap resources into the defensive line which would take pressure off the MLB spot. If I'm them, I wait patiently deep into free agency and snatch up the leftovers at MLB. I wouldn't be as patient at the DL spot, I'd pay what it takes to get one of the big guns.

Good post Schneed! I'm certainly disappointed we're not retaining Brown, but we can't afford to pump that much money into that position.
