Okay, to be clear, I am liking KC a lot more than a month ago. He has had three solid games without a clunker (so expect a 4 INT day against the Panthers
).
However, when it comes to contracts, to start saying he will - or should - get a Russell Wilson or Cam Newton contract is ridiculous. RW has a Superbowl ring. Cam had been a four year starter. KC has been neither of those. He is a guy who may be on the verge of being a very good QB. He still has the season to go.
If he continues to play like he has in these last three games over the rest of the season, he will get a solid, short term contract (three years real terms - maybe two). It would be ludicrous to sign him to a budget busting contract based on less than one year of consistent good play as a starter. His big contract will be his
next contract if he continues to play with consistency.
He will be a tough sign but I am pretty sure, if he performs well, he gets resigned for a nice but not brutal contract.
