Re: Memorial Day .

I think it about it fairly often. I am....Struck by the selfless act of putting ones life in harms way armed with the knowledge that it may be their last act on this earth. To do this in defense of ones country or in defense of another defies adequate description. Granted, much of what our military duty is comprised of is mundane, routine and without inspiration. There is however down through history many.....many occasions where men and women have freely stepped up to the plate knowing they were not coming home from this one....and yet still they went. It is thinking about these people and their acts of heroism that causes my eyes to mist up.
In this country we casually throw around terms like hero......way to easy. I do not. I reserve it for people like these.
It is for these reasons stated, I say a prayer for all our men and women in uniform (and those at home supporting those that serve) as often as I can remember and certainly on Memorial Day.
I say thank you........heroes
