the problem I think of is they would make them get rid of any indian theme all together which I find offensive in itself.

Dragons are not "kiddie" things. They were the sacred emblem of the Chinese emperor and so are emblazoned on government buildings, temples, etc., all over China. They also have a long history of marking important adult things in Japan, Vietnam, etc. Turning to Europe,
Beowulf is hardly children's literature. Dragons were used on medieval maps such as the Lenox Globe. You need to learn about dragons.
Besides, many kids are NFL fans, so having a kid-friendly mascot is not a bad idea.
