We just started getting them last weekend in full force. I enjoy them my kids have loved playing with them and I did a research project on sex ratio with my students which they thoroughly enjoyed. I told them you will forget most of what you learned in high school but you will remember how your science teacher took you outside and had your pick up cicadas and record their sex. This was a fun post I found.

Pretty nuts. Little dudes are kinda hard to shoot down with water guns. I try to flip them back onto their legs when i can but they seem to be so poorly designed.

Had one fly into my charcoal grill last night, he made some sounds but quickly quieted.

They are like flying winnebagos.

Winnebagos are a good analogy I always referred to them as Jeeps. No need to evolve adequate wing control when you can bumble four feet and fall ass backwards into a 100 potential mates.
