Cancer claims another one of the good guys. Way too young.

My heart breaks for those close to him. Teared up just watching Hanna announce it and Rich Eisen talk about in on NFLN. Remember watching Stu since he first came to ESPN2 way back when.

Re: RIP Stuart Scott

I really believed he was going to beat cancer - mainly due to his attitude, and always being positive about his situation. Many have told me that the mentality has everything to do with it.

I watched his speech and teared up when he said how he's not going to leave (die) because he promised his daughters he'd be there....i didn't even know he was in the hospital again....RIP

His condition was always worse than the public knew. It was kept secret. I got to know his family pretty well, great people, and they went through a lot of stuff (beyond his cancer) that I can't even imagine. I wasn't always his biggest fan on-air but he was a delight to be around off-air. RIP Stuart

Very sorry to hear that a little while ago.....
SS was one my favorite sportscasters. I to based on his ESPY speech (which made me cry), thought he was gaining the upper hand. I will miss him...AND he had a remarkable resemblance to my nephew
