World Cup Group Draw
So the live draw for the World Cup groups went down today. US is in the same group as England, and Algeria, and Slovenia which is pretty good draw for us if you ask me.
The group of death this World Cup includes Brazil, Portugal, Ivory Coast, and North Korea (poor bastards). I'm sure many of you are familiar with Brazil and Portugal but if you don't know about Ivory Coast you better ask somebody...that team is stacked (Didier Drogba, nuff said). |
Re: World Cup Group Draw
it seems like every time the world cup rolls around, people are talking about how good the U.S. team is. and then they lose
|
Re: World Cup Group Draw
we got hella lucky on the draw we should be able to move on pretty easily
|
Re: World Cup Group Draw
They'll make it to the next round but that's it. They're a good team but they can't play with the big boys.

Wonder how many people will die this year.

we definitely can play with the big boys, just depends which team shows up. we beat spain in the confederations cup, played brazil tough as well. but we do slip up to a lot of teams we shouldnt, will be an interesting world cup. |
Re: World Cup Group Draw
That group of death is a doozy, and if Brazil and Portugal let up at all, one of them won't make it to the next round.
The US should advance easily. Altidore had his coming out part at the Confederations Cup, and if Tim Howard can get a hot hand, the US could go deep. This team's tide rises and falls with Landon Donovan, and too many times, he's choked under pressure. |

See NFL preaseason about the Redskins for an example. |
