Re: Chris Cooley Endorses Vinny Cerrato
That wasn't a huge defense for a GM when he's saying we have so little depth along our oline Todd Yoder was about to start at G. So Chris Cooley might not be your typical nfl player trying to make headlines by bringing private matters into public but I didn't really see much of a defense there. He's done some good things obviously but he's overall a bad GM. He can recognize some talent he should be a personel guy at best though having him be our GM is stupid.

Re: Chris Cooley Endorses Vinny Cerrato
Yeah, i remember talking about this a few weeks ago. Not really surprising. Cooley was drafted by Cerrato and Cerrato just negotiated an extension with him last year - I wouldnt expect Cooley to say anything else. I really doubt that any redskins player who is not on the verge of retiring/leaving the team, or who is not disgruntled, would ever say anything negative about anyone in the front office or coaching staff. to do so would be stoopid.

Re: Chris Cooley Endorses Vinny Cerrato
I think what Cooley is trying to say is, it's not that VC isn't bringing in the talent so much as the talent isn't bringing in the W's. Sounds like hes pointing the hidden hand at the coaching. Smoot on the other hand was stating the obvious. Just don't tell that to Ed Reed

Re: Chris Cooley Endorses Vinny Cerrato
What do expect him to say?
Snyder and Cerratto are still his boss and they sign his pay checks. I think he eludes to that when he says, "I'm here because Vinny was here. Vinny picked me...." Do you think any player on the Redskins will say yes Vinny is terrible? While true about lack of a pass rush, I did not like that Smoot (specifically) said that about our DL. He said, "That's where games are won at. It's rarely won at the back end, it's always won in the trenches. For the most part, the guys did a good job, but you know if you're gonna look into the numbers, Pittsburgh had 50-odd sacks and all that stuff." WTF? Does he own a mirror? Smoot's poor level of play does not give him the right to point fingers at other under performing team mates . The only reason he is not getting cut this year as opposed next year, he will definitly get cut next year, is it is too cap probative to cut him this year. He and Jansen are in the same boat. Smoot is the weak link and a liability in the secondary. Smoot needs to keep his mouth shut. |

Re: Chris Cooley Endorses Vinny Cerrato
Its obvious this team lacks talent. Overall, we have one one the least talented rosters in the NFL.

Re: Chris Cooley Endorses Vinny Cerrato
Cerrato did sort of give Cooley ten million dollars or so just a year ago. I'd probably endorse the first person to do that for me as well. Just sayin, I have a price.

Re: Chris Cooley Endorses Vinny Cerrato
I could have sworn we talked about this in another thread just a couple of weeks ago. But anyway, is this really news?

Sorry SmootSmack I didn't realize this was already discussed. I'll go post on the more news worthy, if I changed my allegiance thread. :) |

Touche. That's sooooo much more worthy of discussion than this. I mean, how else would you all know I'd probably be a Lions fan if I had to choose? Huh, you tell me? How else? |
Re: Chris Cooley Endorses Vinny Cerrato
He should be endorsing Vinny. He's a player it's not his job to criticize the front office...it's mine!

Re: Chris Cooley Endorses Vinny Cerrato
Cooley to me seemed really frustrated this season. Even though he had his career high in receptions this year he seemed irritated when they showed him on the sidelines.
He may like Cerrato but I don't know if he is Horny for Zorny. |
