Sacrifice the Season
If Jason Campbell is indeed our future why not just start playing him now? The longer we avoid starting him the longer his development will take. I think not winning is not an option for Snyder even if it would pay huge dividends down the line. Would you guys be ok seeing the Redskins have a losing season if it meant that our "quarterback of the future" was learning the game?

Campbell will start at some point this season but that time is not now. I look for him week 4 vs Jacksonville. If the Dallas game doesn't go well than maybe he 'backs up' Brunell during the Texans game.

Re: Sacrifice the Season
I feel Gibbs picked his QB when he moved us up in the draft to get Campbell.
If Brunell continues to play like he is then set him down and let's get going with Jason is my opinion. peeace mike |
Re: Sacrifice the Season
I don't think so either. I believe Saunders is going to bring in another qb or draft one in this upcoming draft. Booty or Quinn is my best someone who can pick up this offense quickly and that can make all the throws. I would not be surprise if he tries to trade for Green next season.

Say it ain't so! I can't handle the QB shuffles anymore. |

i totally agree with saunders picking a new qb next year, we wont have the pick for a quinn or a booty but i would not be surprised if we go after a young talented starter now, like david carr they cant afford another screw up in the draft so i think they pick quinn |

I just think Gibbs will see that we need MORE from the qb position and Campbell is supposed to be 'the guy'. Even if Brunell plays 'mistake free' football, that may not be enough to win this year. The other teams in this division are stacked on O, and we will need to score alot of points. If we make it to our bye week and haven't seen Campbell yet and we have a .500 record or less, then I would start to worry about why JC isn't ready yet. Collins is NOT the answer and playing him does nothing for us. |

I think we or Saunders can't write Campbell off until he starts at least a couple of games. |

i see you live in harrisburg, im going up there next week for work how is it up there |
Re: Sacrifice the Season
so after one game its time for campbell? I think not. One loss doesnt mean its time to write off the season. If i remember correctly i dont think brunnell threw any ints last monday. I think he played pretty well. No need to panic and put campbell in there. Now if we lose i dont know 6 or 7 games then maybe it may be time to play him.

Re: Sacrifice the Season
Vaoutlaws: I think it's more based on Brunell's 2 years and 1 game here. While last year he had some good games early, he fell off yet again, the year before that it was the most dismal job by a QB I've ever seen.

Re: Sacrifice the Season
You don't start Campbell until at least one of two things happen: At the midpoint of our season, we already have 7 losses, or Brunell is hurt. We lose one game, ONE FREAKIN' GAME, and people want to sit Mark Brunell down ---- and that isn't even the BIGGEST REASON why we lost against Minnesota this past Monday night. Why don't we sit all of our starting secondary down? Our defensive line? Our special teamers? Do you think those guys did their best? How is starting a new QB going to help our secondary out? Have this conversation after we're mathematically out of the playoffs for Pete's sake. Mark Brunell gives us our best chance to win.

And MB having one triple-teamed receiver to throw to had nothing to do with his drop in his performanace. Sorry, not buying that. |
