Well he dosent say 100% that he wont play, but damnit!!!!!

Re: Portis Downgraded to Doubtful Against Dallas
Perhaps Joe is laying down his usual subterfuge, deception, and skullduggery. If not, that really blows!

Re: Portis Downgraded to Doubtful Against Dallas
So what was the purpose of having him get as many reps as he did on Monday??
Why did Al think establishing a run game to not be important? Gee- they could pay me 1/10 of what Al makes and Id get it done. |
Re: Portis Downgraded to Doubtful Against Dallas
It's Duckett time.

Re: Portis Downgraded to Doubtful Against Dallas
I'm not sure if I believe this. The past two years we have had players unable to pratice but was ready for game day. They may have already been listed as douptful but they played. He is playing mind game with the Cowboys if you ask me. Read what Gibbs realy said in that article.
Asked if he was ruling Portis out for Sunday's game, Gibbs replied: "Well, I think if a guy doesn't practice, he's not going to play. So we'll downgrade him." Gibbs added: "He'll probably tell me that he can play on game day. But he didn't practice, so we'll move him down accordingly." |
Re: Portis Downgraded to Doubtful Against Dallas
We are kind of a mess right now.

Re: Portis Downgraded to Doubtful Against Dallas
He's playing. No way he doesn't. Portis looked strong against Minny and will be good to go.

I agree! Gibb's is playing head games with the Tuna and Portis. |

And then some...why wouldnt he play? Just because he didnt practice? We had guys do that all year last year and still play? I mean what are we even talking about...practice?? Not a game, not the game that Portis busts his ass for every week...were talkin about practice man...how silly is that...practice? Seriously, if Portis says he can play, let him play and hold him out against Houston if you want. We're staring 0-2 right in the face, we need Clinton Portis in the game to make sure that dosent happen. Our offense is completley different with him in there, it was so much better Monday Night. I dont for one second think Duckett or Betts can do the job Portis can in there. Play him this week if he says he can go, and hold him out against the Texans. |
Re: Portis Downgraded to Doubtful Against Dallas
we played him against minnisota, lost, and now we pay the price.
|
Re: Portis Downgraded to Doubtful Against Dallas
Sounds like the downgrade may be just a technicality more than anything. If a player doesn't practice he's downgraded. Simple as that. I still think we'll see him sunday night, but I'd like to see Duckett get some touches too.
Hopefully we can bring him in for garbage time to salt away the clock. ;) |
Re: Portis Downgraded to Doubtful Against Dallas
Hate to say it but I think we can survive without Portis for a week or two.
I'd much rather have Springs or Prioleau back. |

Re: Portis Downgraded to Doubtful Against Dallas
I think Joe is trying to motivate Clinton rather than trying to deceive the competition. Joe knows Clinton can tough it out. Just wants to see him back in practice. Clinton, however, is smart enough to smell what Joe is cooking up. Maybe a little like the TO/Tuna game.
