We get respect when we earn it, same as anyone else.

And this is the season we earn it.

In the author's defense, this division really could finish in any combination of 1st through 4th. I can't tell who the best teams are, they're all excellent.

When it comes down to it, I'd give the nod to the teams with the better coaching staffs.

I'd say:

Washington 10-6 (this is faith in the team to turn around this rough preseason)
Philadelphia 10-6 (back with a vengeance, McNabb, Westbrook, T Thomas all healthy on offense)
Dallas 9-7 (Sean Payton will be missed, and the offensive line isn't there yet)
New York 8-8 (schedule is tougher than last year, will lose to Seattle, Chicago, Jacksonville, Indy, Carolina, and go 3-3 against the NFC East)

yea right! right off the bat they say just because of TO that dallas is a sure bet for the superbowl!. last night like 35mins of sportscenter was basiclly all about dallas and how wonderful it gong to be this season because they beat the saints in the preseason. might i remind the cowboys fans and everyone else, that they played the SAINTS! not exactly a playoff contender! Dallas gets the most unearned respect of anyone in the league.

Im as hopeful as the rest, but to keep you in check, the Jets were one of the worst teams in the league last year... they're not exactly a playoff contender themselves

Re: WTF do we ever get any respect?

ID say its pretty much time to just sit back and relax and let the games begin...we can run around in circles all day...on paper we are all excellent in the NFC east....the "experts" simply just rarely show us any kind of love. Who cares what they think because when we are sitting pretty at 13-3 i expect apologies for their cowboy praises!!!!

I like taking people by surprise after we destroy them 35-7 and eliminate them from the playoffs. :)

We don't want respect. We want to be treated like the hogs that we are.

Plus the Giants will not have the added advantage of an extra home game this year.

To be fair, they probably would have rolled the Saints even if the game were played in N.O.

Re: WTF do we ever get any respect?

But you have to remember Schneed, Eli Manning was still winless on the road at that point. I think the Saints could have beaten the Giants had the game been played in NO.

Re: WTF do we ever get any respect?

I could care less what those clowns think. At this point our top RB is hurt, top starting CB is hurt, offense hasn't scored any points and special teams look like they are more like special education. Last time I checked it's August 22 and nothing has counted since Super Bowl XL. I want respect in February 2007, until then screw 'em.

Re: WTF do we ever get any respect?

Nothing to get all up in arms about. It's not like he's pulling a Dr. Z and correlating cash flow with a 2-14 season. 8-8 is a low end but reasonable prediction for this team.

I still say 13-3, although that may be a bit high end. Trap games could happen. *cough* Philli *cough*

Re: WTF do we ever get any respect?

Well, like it was said earler in this post, "to get respect you must earn respect". So far this preseason we have not done so. Also, those guys can get off the cowboy, giant, eagle tip. This team needs to get this offseason play out of their system, and start playing like they have something to prove. But, yea I couldn't name 5 jets players if I had to and they punked us out on our own field.

Re: WTF do we ever get any respect?

Sooo let's review the bidding:
Starting with the [COWPUKES
They have TO - absolutely the best wr in the NFL (despite all his "issues")
They have Bledsoe - a veteran QB who is accurate and can throw 2 balls at once (we have to get one to Glenn don't we?)
and They have a new defensive scheme, the 3-4, that will be the best in the NFL
and They have Parcells (I think we ought to go home now).
Next the NYShrimps
Well they have LaVar!! Now I know it's time to go home. And to help LA whenever he takes a knee-break, they have another Manning and a Shock.
Finally, the BEAGLES
Donovan is back(?) - that's all they need.

Is there any wonder why the 'Skins are last?
I hope I didn't waste everyones time with the tongue-in-cheek.
We just needed to lighten up a bit.
