Why The Bengals Won't Have a Good 12th Man
 

The Bengals have created a hotline so fans can call in and report bad behavior by other fans, including cursing too much.

Maybe it's just because I come from Philadelphia, but I think fanbases need to take a page out of the Eagles' book in order to develop a better homefield advantage. You can't go to a game and expect to create game-altering noise without feeling some passion. If that passion comes from a hatred of the other team and results in some cursing, it's all the better for your team.

Nobody's saying fans need to get in fights, throw ice on the field, and intimidate other people. But you have to be ready to bring the noise to create a good homefield. I don't know about you, but the only way I can be that loud for three straight hours is if I've really got the blood flowing. Sometimes the Skins are winning and it's easy to get loud because you're excited. But when the Skins are losing, you have to summon some hatred for the other team in order to bring the noise.

I can only be that loud for three louds if by having a good amount of alcohol in said blood.

I happen to think the Bengals will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this year...but this is such a wuss move. I recently tried to visit their fan site just to get a feel for how they did in the draft and so forth, they won't even allow non-Bengal fans in their locker room area to chat. And if for some reason you were able to post a comment, no matter how positive, the Mods will tell you once to leave before banning you from the site altoghether.

I don't know but something about that seems incredibly 'soft' to me.

I thought in Philly, they do say, "fans need to get in fights, throw ice on the field, and intimidate other people." The "hatred" and "cursing" are just how Eagles fans show their class.
