Had to be fixed

With a dead owner and playing in NY...of course the giants was gonna win. No team in the NFL has played as bad as the skins today. And everyone knows the skins are better than this. Hell a high school team would have played better. BUT if the suits in the NFL office tells you to blow a game I guess ya better comply.

Totally absurd!!! What possble reason could there be to throw a game?We just suck not as good as we think we are.

Re: Had to be fixed

We don't suck, we just couldn't match the emotion and intensity of the G-men. It'll be a different story when we play them again around christmas time.

Our main problem is that we are not able to run the ball. The O-line played shitty today. The D-line stinks too...injuries have decimated the D-line. We can mask those deficiencies with good QB and LB play, but that didn't happen today.

If we win one of the next two, we'll be fine heading into the second half of the season. I look for us to be 5-4 after two weeks, which is right on target for a playoff run.

SUNRA 10-30-2005 05:50 PM

Re: Had to be fixed

It's just a Redskins fans way of getting through the most embarassing loss in recent history. It was clearly an emotional victory that the Giants used as the Saints used when there is a tragic loss. Other than that, the Giants are nothing. We will see this when they come to our house.

Seriously? How could we NOT get up for this game? This was the biggest game our franchise has played in a good 5 years, and they came out and played like it was like a high school scrimmage. We are playing for our lives next week. If we fall to 4-4, were in trouble.

I'm sure some games are fixed, but this one wasn't. Fixed doesn't explain the shut out. I'm sure had the game been close, the refs would've made the necessary calls to put the game out of reach for us, but it didn't come to that.

If we thought we were a great team after beating S F and needed a loss like this to show us were not, then we are in deep trouble. We are not a good team the giants proved that.No wait we proved that 124 yds against 31st ranked def.We have a long way to go.

Agreed! This is why I felt it was so important for us to have picked up a victory against either Denver or Kansas City when we had the chance. It is always tough for us to win in our division, and this game was a huge step backwards for us. Now, we have to prepare for the Eagles next week, and then division leading Tampa Bay the following week. I believe if we lose next week, we're in trouble.

Maybe we should be asking how could we have matched the Giants' emotion today.

Just wasn't possible, they were playing not only for the division, but for their beloved owner.

Tough task to expect the Skins to match that determination.

Giant's playing with emotion or not, we shouldn't have been as dominated as what we were today.

Well when I think you should take that into account, I dont think you can overlook how flat the Redskins looked. To be completley honest, I was very scared of the Giants this week for that very reason. However, I still think you can't hide the fact that the Redskins just looked like a lost, blind dog out there. Their heads just werent in it.

MTK 10-30-2005 07:08 PM

Re: Had to be fixed

Of course, I'm not trying to downplay how flat the Skins were, just saying the Giants were riding sky high with emotion and that was a tough thing to match.

LadyT 10-30-2005 07:11 PM

Re: Had to be fixed

We've always had trouble in the Meadowlands, but I was truly shocked by the lackluster play of the Skins - the penalties, dropped passes, missed tackles and turnovers.

All in all, a terrible outing by our team. Yes, the Giants had a lot of emotion in this game, but so should have the Skins. After all, this was a divisional game and we were tied for first. If we can't get up for a game like that, I don't know what we can get up for.

Next week is crucial to this team. Two divisional losses would be deadly. Thank God we're back home.

I was concerned about this game, but I honestly thought we'd be in it until the end. Instead, we were out of it from the beginning.

Very disappointing play by the entire team. It's not often that a Gibbs team gets so severely routed.

Nice win but wow you must admit something was wierd about this game, the skins aren't amazing-and neither are the midgets- but really they aren't that bad. I would wish you luck in the future but you are a gint so good job but a little word from the wise, don't get to full of your team, we had a similar win then a horrible loss

I think our team thought we'd roll the giants. They had something to play for, we brought nothing when this game shoulda been of the highest intensity! Honestly I thought we'd roll the gmen. But I do think we were all overconfident going into that game and produced nothing. It seemed by the kickoff we'd lost the game. Our Redskins either did too much partying for Halloween in NYC or badjuju of gmen past haunted the shiznizzle outta us. No excuse.

Let me write this without using a lot of vulgarities because it won't change how I feel about this humiliation before 70,000 people. I read today in the New Jersey's Starledger that Antonio Pierce gave the Giants offensive staff the Redskins defensive packages and what they are more likely to do in every situation based on their formation. Now I know it's not illegal to share what he knows, but what was going through Greg Williams' mind when he saw Barber run in the opposite direction on the first play of the game?

It sure as hell wasn't boy Antonio must have given our plays up to these bums. How can a defense ranked next to last in the league stop the run, stop the pass and sack the QB at will? When you have a motherfucker on the other side of the ball that not only played on defense, but translated the plays to his teamates from his armband which he was given credit for by us as being an intelligent player. If Arrington is let go and goes to Dallas, Philly or the Giants our defense as we know it is finished. I'm willing to bet that Pierce made a couple of duplicates of our plays and distributed them to his fellow coaches like crack at a Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston party. No good Bastard!

Re: Had to be fixed

Sunra, i think your giving way to much credit to antonio peirce, he's not the first guy in the history of the nfl to change teams you know. did he help his team some? yea but not to the extent that you suggest.

how did the 49ers beat the bucs yesterday? do the 49ers have the bucs middle linebacker from a year ago?

Thats pretty funny if you dont break it up into two seperate statements.

I have had a couple of people say that to me that they thought this game was fixed, but Id couldn't be. It would've been way too obvious. If we were trying to blow that game we did a horrible job because it was wayy tooo blatant.

I think you underestimated the loss of Antonio Pierce like the Redskin coaching staff did. Pierce was the key player in the defense last year. He related the plays to the defense and was given a lot of credit for his knowlege of the game. If Pierce's input was not essential then why did Barber mention it after the game?

Tell me how the 31st ranked defense all of a sudden plays a perfect shutout against a 2# offense unless they have an ingenius grasp of that teams playcalling?

Pierce went to an rival team in our division and stated in an article on Friday that he wanted to hurt the organization because he felt disrespected after a deal could not be agreed upon. So the Giants was a great way to accomplish that task. Pierce is not the first player in the NFL to play in the same division, however he was one of the most important components to the success of the defense. Remember he had 160 tackles last year.

i don't underestimate the loss of pierce i just think you OVERESTIMATE it. sure he new some things about how to attack our defense and he might have even known a few plays that the offense liked to run out of certain formations and such but i credit AP with only about 5% of the giants victory. the skins lacked effort, intensity, desire, passion, the will to win. the skins could not match the giants passion, the giants were not going to play bad after the passing of their beloved owner. the giants came out swinging and the skins did not punch back, AP had nothing to do with any of that.

don't get cought up too much in the numbers game regarding the rankings of their defense versus our offense or vicaversa, numbers mean absolutly nothing when one teams plays with fire and the other team plays effortless.
