Giants Week - Week 1
Football is here! Who ya got?
I'm gonna say Washington wins but Giants cover. Fierce defensive line. But Russ is known to take some sacks and I think while Nabers will get his, Russ is going to cough the ball up at the wrong time while Jayden takes care of it. Washington 23 New York 20 |
Re: Giants Week - Week 1
As optimistic as I am about the season, this game worries me. I think NYG will be a LOT better now that Danny Dimes is gone. I also think our penalties will be called at the worse time, Lattimore and Tunsil both need to play disciplined and they both have lacked that last year. Finally, I don't know how fast all the parts will mesh given the lack of the on-field (not game) time together.
All that said, our offense may only punt once (TWay getting top benchwarmer pay) and our defense does enough: NYG 24 WAS 34 Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk |
Re: Giants Week - Week 1
Tunsil might false start but he'll keep Burns or Thibodeaux off of Jayden. I couldn't have said that without Tunsil on the roster.

Re: Giants Week - Week 1
Predictions for week 1 are always tough because it's a new year. There are a couple of things I will be paying attention to in this game: how our Oline performs against Giants' strong Dline and how we utilize our RBs (and Samuels).

Re: Giants Week - Week 1
We roll them 31-13

Re: Giants Week - Week 1
I think we come out flat.
Giants 19 Commanders 13 Russ cooks just enough. |
Re: Giants Week - Week 1
I think the Giants have even more new pieces than we do (3 new QBs, for starters) and that will take some adjustment, but their D line is straight up nasty. I think Kliff is going to have to dial up some quick passes and delayed runs to get behind that line quickly. And even when the Giants are bad, we always seem to play them close (last year, 21-18 and 27-22). I think this stays frustratingly close but that we end up having just too much offense for their very good defense. 26-17.

Re: Giants Week - Week 1
lot of indicators of a slow start. Jayden should be good though. I still think we pull it out. We got rid of that DS stank, and I think we're finally done with giving the giants free wins.

Re: Giants Week - Week 1
I love this offense and we should score some points.
But I’m so very excited to see this defense. I think we will be better, more physical. I think this staff likes the secondary a lot… feel like Quan Martin and Mikey could take the leap. 26-16 |
Re: Giants Week - Week 1
Riding into work today I was listening to the Junks and they had a Giants guy either beat or talk show host obviously from the NYC area.
He was saying the Giants defense will be best in division and a top 10 in league if not top 5…. |
Re: Giants Week - Week 1
Week 1 anything can happen but I'm optimistic...
We win 34-17 |

They're being widely regarded as likely to be a very strong defensive unit. Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Abdul Carter, Brian Burns, Bobby Okereke... lots and lots of pass rush Secondary was where they were dreck last year but they signed some guys that make it at least capable. Top 10 is likely. |

I think they have some weakness against the run and quick screens to slow the pass rush, but there is no reason to think their defense won't be very good this year. Our offense will still be better. Re: Giants Week - Week 1
Don't like NFC East divisional games to start the season , with that said IMPO it's still preseason for the teams . These games can be sloppy at least you guys know what you have I have no clue what to expect from my team . I hope for a win being game one on paper they are better but paper means shit. Just no major injuries in game one, please.

And maybe most importantly, Von Miller or Dorance Armstrong lining up against a LT not named Andrew Thomas (not likely to play) equals a big negative play from Russ. So I think we win but they're going to be pesky. |
Re: Giants Week - Week 1
This is a good opening game. Giants will be improved. We are at home though with the better qb fresh off a NFC title game appearance. As long as our oline is decent against their vaunted dline, I like our chances.

Re: Giants Week - Week 1
The first game of the season always has me really nervous. All the discussion of how we look on paper, in camp, in the preseason, etc. -- none of it really matters until the season starts. If our team comes out motivated and takes the Giants seriously, I feel like our O will be just enough better than their D, and that will be the difference maker.

31-20 Redskins.

Re: Giants Week - Week 1
my biggest concerns in this game:
1- special teams breakdowns 2- dumb penalties (Tunsil and Lattimore especially) 3- our rushing defense Sent from my SM-S711U using Tapatalk |
Re: Giants Week - Week 1
Reaves must be really impressing to be listed as a captain week 1. Our boys just need to win. Schedule is too tough and winning the home opener against a divisional team your better than needs to occur.

Saw that Michael Deiter and Chris Moore just got elevated. I understand wanting the backup center but Moore makes me think Noah Brown isn’t ready after all. That would be too bad.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Agree. Thought Brown was ready to go. Would be a bummer if he's not a go for tomorrow. Time for McCaffrey and Lane to step up. Was hoping Brooks would make the team. Just get the W tomorrow. |

Re: Giants Week - Week 1
Dart may see some action today within certain sets:

Re: Giants Week - Week 1
Dart would have got killed today, they were wise to leave him on the bench
