We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
It was so gross but it worked.
If we get that Juste for 15 more games, defense will be a lot more serviceable. He stepped up big time today. |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
First, great last drive to win the game by JD and the offense
Mixed bag on offense, defense and special teams. Ran the ball great….Second half defense good…7 field goals cool. Red zone offense horrific and penalties pathetic |

Inside of the 10 those effect the offense way more than anywhere else. You still don't have an option to go deep, but it makes running the ball harder. It's especially tough with a rookie QB. You have to help a rookie QB, not constantly fuck him over, in the redzone. |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
Those uniforms were awesome. If you don't like those, nothing outside of the Redskins coming back will satisfy.

Yeah, but the offense not scoring TDs for the games is a major L. Blame JD, Oline, WR, backs, and KK. And too me it’s twice as bad when we get there 6-7 times and don’t get in. Not good |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
Well. the good news is we won, the bad is we barely won against what is a very, very bad team that was crippled by losing their kicker in this game. This indicates we may still be a bottom 5 team in the NFL.

We're still a bad football team. But still cool that Daniels/Quinn won their 1st home game. The Giants suck, but also still a monkey off our backs on that front too. Lastly, I think that rib-shot made Daniels remember he's a really good passer, when he let's it rip. |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
New FO, new Coaching Staff, new QB, new offensive line, big roster turnover….
As long as we keep moving in the right direction I’m ok with the team. Not expecting the team to be world beater this early. Glad we beat the Giants! Fucking hate Mara! |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
The most unlikeliest of victories in terms of the manner in which we won. Going on our 5th kicker in four months and we win because we kicked seven field goals... LOL
Anyway, I saw progress from JD, progress with the D, a very effective running game (without JD for the most part). All positives in my opinion. Really, the only negative I have is the bonehead penalties. You can't have four drive-killing false start penalties in the red zone and expect to beat a good team, and you can't have ST penalties that take away points, and/or give away good field position. Other than that, I was pretty happy with the effort and of course the result = W. Not sure how I feel about playing a winless Bengals team on the road on MNF, but let's go! Oh yeah, Fuck the Cowboys! |

Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
all the turnover on the roster and staff means we're going to see a slow start. I do see some progress, and the ball is moving (and both RBs are killing it, thankfully). I would have loved to see 7 TDs vs 7 FGs, but a win is a win.
KK has never been considered a great offensive mind, and we're missing a #1 CB (not even close), so there is a ceiling on how good this team can be. OL is actually playing a bit better than I expected (and yes, they could be playing better). Penalties have been awful though. I can't think of worse times to take such big losses on penalties through these first two games. That needs to get fixed. |

Oh yeah, Fuck the Cowboys!
Dude, what about the Giants losing their kicker first play of game? That helped us big time |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
I really like McCaffrey’s potential but he’s way too green to be out there and not giving us production we desperately need for an already thin group.
For god sakes play Noah Brown more. |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
Just got home and watched the game.
A win is a win.. We won because Nabers dropped a 1st down Ugly overall but at least JD5 is fun |

No doubt, and I don't care. Injuries are part of the equation. |

Well yeah, but the irony of the kicker…ftw! |

Great offensive mind bad HC At least the kicker situation was resolved for a week at least |

Good grief - just read that BRob’s 133 yards made him the first to rush for 100+ since 2021. Yeesh.

We're on the same page about this - I think that is our best pairing. Glad we finally slayed the Giants but it could've been a whole different game if Gano doesn't get injured on the opening kickoff. Highlights: Pass defense played slightly better. Good to see guys actually breaking up passes and playing tighter coverage. Run game - Robinson and Ekeler were great. That 40 yarder by Robinson, I couldn't even track which way he went into the pile so that was pretty amazing to watch. Glad to see him break a couple but I wish he had that finishing mindset - if he breaks that last tackle we're talking about a badly needed touchdown. Jayden Daniels' poise - cool as a cucumber on that last drive. Zach Ertz - he is definitely earning his money right now. How could I forget our new kicker - clutch as fuck for one week at least. Hope this is the end of our kicking woes. Lowlights: Mike Davis - I put partial blame on the coaches but he was getting lit up by Nabers. After it became clear Jones was keying in on Nabers they should've started jumping routes or double covering him. We could be talking about a different game if he didn't drop that last pass. Daniel Jones - still waiting for the day when we make Jones look as bad as the rest of the NFL does. Defensive coaching staff - They didn't adjust to Nabers lighting them up that quickly. Passing game - I know it's a slow learning process but the amount of screen passes at the LOS is too damn high. I swear we see that called 5+ times a guy and the D is ready for it. Not sure if that's on Daniels or Kingsbury but Daniels is not in sync with the WR's. Penalties - as a collective group they need to tighten up. All the false starts and other penalties are terrible. |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
The Unis are better with gold pants for sure but I still think an upgrade is needed to the Logo , The W is so plain
|

Apparently he was hurt before the game but if he doesnt get hurt they dont go for it on the 4th down drive that ends up being a TD so they may have had less points. |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
Yeah, we can't really assume what "would have" happened. Losing their kicker changed their decision making, but doesn't mean it would have changed the ultimate outcome.

I like the W logo a lot. I've always liked the gold pants. They should wear them every week. A strong no the black unis and the pink and white jersey. Gotta get back to the B&G every week. |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
Winning ugly is a beautiful thing.

Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
@BenStandig
* Malik Nabers had 18 targets yesterday. * Terry McLaurin has 12 targets in two games this season. Career-high is 14 (x2), with the last instance occurring in Week 2 of 2021 season. * Nabers had 10 receptions. * McLaurin has two games with 10+ in his career. |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
Feels good to win against another bad team--especially the gints, who have had our number. Progress from Jayden, but he has to learn how to avoid the big hits. Nice game from BR.
As for the rest, I think the goal is to find out who can play and to be patient. We're going to lose some games here, folks. The team just does not yet have the bodies. Build the culture and find out who is worth keeping. At the very least, we can fix the friggin penalties! |

61.6 Passing grade for JD5 yesterday. Much better than week 1's 36.3
|
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
1 loss to a playoff caliber team on the road.
1 win against a bad team at home. This team is right where it should be, and probably where most predicted they would be. |
Re: We Slayed the Jones Dragon Post-Game Thread
No punts.
JD played better after getting hit. Team drove down the field to get the game winning FG. This is a full rebuild but we have some positives to build on. |
