Look for us to send a few more packing in the next couple days as we add other players off the waiver wire.

With the #2 waiver spot I'm sure they have their eye on someone, maybe another WR |
Re: Commanders announce initial 53-man roster for 2024 season
This is minor but a surprise to me - Colson Yankoff is on the roster, I didn't realize that we even have him on the team in the first place. Love it when undrafted rookies make it on the team.

No waiver claims for us, interesting

Re: Commanders announce initial 53-man roster for 2024 season
We will add one more DT soon enough since we just traded Ridgeway away.

Especially as there were some OTs that got picked up. And trading ridgeway kinda makes sense after drafting Newton, as he obviously had value with a few teams showing interest, but no replacement signing? Curious what they plan to do with that spare spot if not grab a guy off waivers... |
Re: Commanders announce initial 53-man roster for 2024 season
Ridgeway traded to the Saints

@JPFinlayNBCS
Adam Peters points out his pro staff "scoured" the waiver wire and they decided not to make any claims. He points out Washington now holds the 1st waiver spot for first 3 weeks of season |

Re: Commanders announce initial 53-man roster for 2024 season
The Commanders are signing WR Noah Brown, per @JFowlerESPN. Last season:
🔴 75.0 receiving grade 🟡 33 receptions 🔴 567 receiving yards 🟡 222 yards after the catch 🔴 24 first downs 🟡 2 TDs |
Re: Commanders announce initial 53-man roster for 2024 season
We going to keep 7 WRs?
Wish we kept K.J. Henry. |

They were teammates at Ohio State. |

With Dyami Brown and Noah Brown, I guess the new slogan for our WRs is "What can Brown do for you?" Maybe we should have gone from FedEx Field to UPS Field.

Re: Commanders announce initial 53-man roster for 2024 season
Pretty crazy Texans have so much WR depth Noah Brown gets cut. He's better than anyone we have other than Terry. Dyami Brown looks good too, but I need to see it in he regular season.

Re: Commanders announce initial 53-man roster for 2024 season
I think too much has been made about the WR room where the real problem is corner and OT. A good QB can make any receiver productive, Peyton Manning made something called Austin Collie a viable fantasy football starting receiver. You can get away with pedestrian receivers to some degree, you can't hide a poor corner or offensive tackle.

WR is definitely down the pecking order below those 2. If we have any injuries on the OL, we're screwed. At least one of Juste and Forbes has to play at least solid, or we're screwed in the secondary even helathy. |

Re: Commanders announce initial 53-man roster for 2024 season
Hopefully Owens doesn't talk much about his conspiracy theories in the locker room as it might push some teammates away. I once had a friend who used to be a good friend of mine, until he went down into conspiracy theories black hole and it became challenging to have productive conversations with him.

Re: Commanders announce initial 53-man roster for 2024 season
I must admit I didn't know a lot about Owens. But if he is this big and that fast and played well in camp I'm intrigued. I think the biggest surprise of the final roster was keeping the other UFA tight end.

Just released Byron Pringle - does that mean we are about to sign someone else? Elevate a PS member? Hmmmm…
