Seabird pre game thread
Can anyone say code red?
We currently sit at number 8. Seattle at number 5. Both , unbelievably, in contention for a wildcard birth. I have renewed faith solely because of Sam, and our new line configuration. I still think Ron and JDR are holding us back. That being said, a win against them would be huge down the stretch. I suddenly see five winnable games left on our schedule. This is one of them. |
Re: Seabird pre game thread
This is still probably not a good enough team to make the playoffs. Too many holes and against better offenses we are going to struggle. Have to remember New England's offense is bottom 3 in the league.
Seattle coming off a bad loss and will be at home. I don't like our chances here. |
Re: Seabird pre game thread
Oddly, we seem to play Seattle tough (including at home), but I think they're going to be pretty motivated after getting humiliated last weekend (whereas we had a squeaker against a 2-7 team). But who the heck knows? If the team that went toe-to-toe with the Eagles twice shows up, sure we can win. But we haven't seen that team consistently enough for me to feel like it's likely. Going to be rainy and breezy -- we need our run game to win and not force SH to throw 50 times.

Re: Seabird pre game thread
This is the perfect game to win. It gives us hope before we lose to Danny DeVito and the Giants.
|
Re: Seabird pre game thread
I hope we win, but I'm guessing it'll be something like 27-23 Seattle.
Which is fine... Can't get my hopes up after barely beating Mac Jones & a bad NE team. |
Re: Seabird pre game thread
After losses to very beatable teams this year, I'm not predicting wins in winnable games anymore. Is this a winnable game? Yes. But the Seahawks are a good team and they're at home and coming off a bad loss. I expect a close one.
|
Re: Seabird pre game thread
What also concerns me is what if the conditions don't favor throwing the ball? EB might stroke out if he has to go to a run first gameplan.
|
Re: Seabird pre game thread
I don't know what to think with this team anymore. They will be better prepared, home and with crappy weather. I agree that EB may fold like a lawn chair when conditions don't permit throwing 50 times lol

Re: Seabird pre game thread
Looks like it’ll be a wet game , Sam better throw some wet football this week.
It’s hard to gauge the hawks. Geno and their offense is solid but they’ve had some bad outings this year. Defense is also pretty inconsistent. I think it’s a close one and we find a way to win. 26-24 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Seabird pre game thread
I think we win in overtime …
|
Re: Seabird pre game thread
I’m going to try something here - seahawks win 43-16. I’m taking the George Costanza approach from now on. Prove me wrong by doing the opposite, Commies!

Re: Seabird pre game thread
The Seahawks are a SB caliber team, except for one question mark: Geno Smith
They are solid all around, a great young OL and probably the best young CB’s in the league. This should be a really good test for Howell going against that secondary. |

If we lose the next game to the Giants, I will simply not watch us play any more against them until we win at least 2 in a row. I can't take losing to those jackwagons anymore. |
Re: Seabird pre game thread
WaPo has an article didn't realize this because we have been awful for so long but the C-men are 4-0 at Seattle's Lumen field and 7-1 against them during regular season road games.

Re: Seabird pre game thread
Seattle is good , this will be a legit test to see if we can beat a good team
|
Re: Seabird pre game thread
We can beat a good team. We can also get blown out by a good team. We can also lose to a pretty bad team. That's what makes each weekend so much fun. We don't know what to expect...

Well we know we are not blowing out a good team or a bad team or a troop of boy scouts or girl scouts or 53 corpses. |

Eagles are better. Like Chief said we have the ability to play up or down to just about anyone. |

Well, I guess that is true. We do know we are not going to blow out anybody. Boys and Girl Scouts included. |
Re: Seabird pre game thread
Interested to see how Howell and the offense play at Seattle. Loud, tough environment and Carroll's teams usually field a good defense. Hard to ignore Howell's production. Think this game could be fun.
|
Re: Seabird pre game thread
It will be loud and they will make it a point to come after Sam. Will EB come up with a game plan to counter that and not put Sam in positions to fail? We shall see. Hopefully the plan is to get the ball out quick, take some shots on 1st down, and not be so predictable with the run, pass, pass... run, pass, pass. That will get Sam killed.

Their young secondary might be the best in the league and Leonard Williams has had an extra week to get familiar with new D, should be tough. |

Good morning it’s Saturday Nov 11, the day before we start our Playoff March.

Re: Seabird pre game thread
Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure I will announce the Commanders will violate the Seahawks in their own house again.
Us - 31 Them - 20 |
Re: Seabird pre game thread
Wonder how much rain they'll get.
|
Re: Seabird pre game thread
Got a weird premonition kind of thing that we win it on a pick 6 as Seattle are attempting the grand winning drive, 31-23 to us. Probably a dream and we actually lose 24-13.🤔

Re: Seabird pre game thread
I no longer try to predict how well or poorly this team will play. I just hope that Sam will not be seriously injured.
This much I know: we will be out-coached. |
Re: Seabird pre game thread
Fucking unbelievable but believable with the idiots running the team. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38872815/chase-young-trade-completed-commanders-lowered-asking-price

Re: Seabird pre game thread
I find it totally believable that nobody was prepared to offer a 2nd and change. I'd rather he had gone to the Falcons but looks like they dithered and the 49ers were definite. Bird in the hand...

Re: Seabird pre game thread
The whole league had the chance to get Chase Young … the best offer we got was a 3rd rounder … Think about this for a second ..all of us bash this team for not making good decisions.. well the REST of the league more or less passed on Chase as being not worth more than a third .. so I’m glad we didn’t pick up extension and sign him to some ridiculous contract ( the rest of the league decided with us his worth ) and it was a 3rd rounder ..
|
Re: Seabird pre game thread
I'm ready to see Casey Toohill get 2 sacks today.....

Exactly. If there was a better offer, they would have taken it...and there wasn't. They entered the day knowing they were going to trade Chase Young for whatever they could get for him. The market for him was a 3rd round pick. End of story. |
Re: Seabird pre game thread
Got a bad feeling about this game as we near kickoff. Hope I'm wrong. Don't like the matchup and think Carroll has his boys ready. Hope I'm wrong. Will be bigtime if Howell goes there and wins.

Re: Seabird pre game thread
Best news of the day, Wylie might be out.
Washington announced that T Andrew Wylie is now questionable with an illness. |
Re: Seabird pre game thread
The Seahawks should not have won this game.
The loss was all on the defense |
