Around the League Week 2
Week 2 is here. Enjoy it because no sports season goes faster than Football.
Go Vikings. Make Hurts throw. |
Re: Around the League Week 2
Vikings can't hold the ball for shit. So many fumbles.
|
Re: Around the League Week 2
The lack of play by starters in the preseason shows. Rusty play.
|
Re: Around the League Week 2
Cousins by far is the worst QB I've ever seen when it comes to fumble. He has no concept of ball security. Also, any team with 4 fumbles in 3 quarters has no discipline. At all.
|
Re: Around the League Week 2
That fumble by Jefferson broke the Vikings in this game. They just packed it in after that.

Through two games, Cousins has more turnovers (3 fumbles lost/1 INT) than TDs (3 TDs). |

Around the League Week 2
Cousins still doing his best to put shit teams on his back. The Eagles got so lucky so far.

Are you joking did you see the tackle? No QB in the NFL would have anticipated getting hit that fast on the blindside and everyone of them would have fumbled. Don't let your disdain for Cousins blame him for something that wasn't his fault. |

People on this site love to blame Cousins for everything. Meanwhile he is playing a better game than Hurts. Just doesn’t have a full cast of all pros on offense and defense and has a shit HC. |

Why did the Vikes get rid of Dalvin Cooks? Alexander Mattison has like 10 yds and he had like 34 yds last week. They have no running game. And yeah, Hurts has very pedestrian numbers. |

I agree with you, but he has Justin Jefferson, so it's not like he has no one to throw to. Getting rid of Cooks seems like it was a bad idea. You're not going to win any games if your RB1 has 44 yds through two games. |

Did you see those fumbles? Last week one of them was literally knocked out of his arms by his own idiot G. The one tonight wouldn’t have been held onto by Spiderman. So basically he has a fumble. Two were caused by his shit line. One quite literally. |

Terrible let go by the Vikings. Still don’t know why they let him go. Also Ruh did you ever look at it like Jefferson has Cousins? Only quarterback he has ever had. Maybe he isn’t the best WR in football without him? I just don’t get the hate for the man. He is a really good quarterback who has played for really bad teams and still manages to rack up crazy numbers. If he was on a good team he would be on his way to the Hall. Only thing holding him back is post season success. Hard to come by when you play for Washington and Minny. Isn’t his fault he is on shit teams. |
Re: Around the League Week 2
Wow same play over and over - run up the middle and the Vikes can't do anything to stop it.

When he was here playing with us, he had a shit team. He's had some good teams in Minnesota. Throughout his time in Minnesota (Diggs, Thielin, Kyle Rudolph, Dalvin Cooks, Justin Jefferson, and Hockesen). I do agree that over the past couple of years the Vikings have made questionable personnel decisions, have let their defense decline, and getting rid of Cooks seems to have come to bite them in the ass. |

We see another good example in D. Swift. I was surprised when Detroit let him go. They got lucky and got Gibbs. But it is obvious he still good, he's running hard out there for the Iggles. |
Re: Around the League Week 2
Huge stop here. Come on!
|
Re: Around the League Week 2
Well Ruh you better put on your Cousins jersey cus he needs to get two TD’s. Lol. I fuckin hate Philly.
|
Re: Around the League Week 2
Jesus 17. Catch that! The Eagles should be 0-2 but BB opted not to kick a chip shot fg and the Vikings are killing themselves.
|
Re: Around the League Week 2
Jalen Hurts looks great. Against a 3 man rush. He is so along for the ride. Once again the Vikings D shits the bed. God I hate the Eagles.
|
Re: Around the League Week 2
We all knew the Eagles would be good especially on O.. They are LOADED. Going to be hard to beat them this yr for any team

They don’t look as good ad last year, lost some players to FA and we beat them in Philly with a lesser team than this year. They are beatable |
Re: Around the League Week 2
People that don't think Kirk is good QB just don't like him for personal reasons. Watch the Amazon Prime and tell me that Kirk is not only a good QB, but he's tough as nails.
Vikes can't run the ball and can't stop the run. That's bad news for any team. It's early but the Eagles certainly look beatable. If Jefferson does not fumble that ball at the end of the half it's a totally different game. |
Re: Around the League Week 2
Get Up this morning proposed Minny trading Cousins to the Jets lol. You never know but don't see that happening unless they really have no faith in their team this year. Also noticed Brown and Hurts getting into it. Brown was ticked and left without speaking to the press. Pretty strong reaction after a nice home victory.

I used to like AJ Brown, he’s a diva now. One thing you won’t see with our team is WR’s bitching about not getting the ball. |
Re: Around the League Week 2
I'm still not sold on Hurts. I know he played well last year, but at times he still doesn't look like a NFL QB. He's not doubt gotten better but if they can't run the ball his weaknesses will show up eventually.

They are a bad decision (by BB), and an inch (JJ’s almost touchdown) from being 0-2. They are good but not great. |

He's got great stats though... I would suspect all but 4-6 NFL teams would consider Cousin's to replace their current starter, including us. But he isn't a carry the team on his back kind of QB. To win a SB he'd need a complete team around him, something he's never really had. Personally, I'd put Cousins in the same group as the likes of Herbert, Stafford etc. |

Carolina Panthers (maybe to start and mentor Young, but not long term) Cincinnati Bengals Cleveland Browns (not yet anyway they think a ton of Watson or they wouldn't have paid such a huge price for him) Dallas Cowboys Indianapolis Colts (maybe to start and mentor Richardon, but really doubt it, and definitely not long term) JAcksonville Kansas City Los Angeles Chargers Miami Dolphins New Orleans Saints New York Jets (when rogers was healthy anyway) Eagles that is 14 teams right there . . . others are close like Garoppolo and Fields (Bears believe in him, i don't) |

My guess is that there aren't a lot of quarterbacks who have won a Super Bowl by themselves. |

The rookies are an exception. If those teams may have had kirk they may not draft those rookies. All a what if game and a useless one at that. To each their own opinions. Fuck the eagles. Biggest frauds ever and hurts is McNabb 2.0 except McNabb was a better qb. |

I mean he's not a difference maker on his own. Say you swapped him for Mahomes in his 2 SB runs. There are a number of times Mahomes ability overcame shortcomings of his team, notably protection and some unbelievable throws. Cousins would have lost key games Mahomes won, despite great numbers, because he couldn't have overcome those shortcomings. Likely that means playoffs missed or losses in the playoffs. If he were the Ravens QB for the 2000 or 2012 seasons, probably the same outcome. And he definitely better than Dilfer or Flacco in their prime. To win a SB he needs to not be required to do something special. |
Re: Around the League Week 2
I remember Chad Henne coming in for Mahomes - and KC probably wouldn't have won that game and gone on to the SB if it weren't for the plays he made - in conjunction with the rest of the team around him.
K Cousins would be a fine SB QB. It's just not easy to get there. You need a great team in all three phases and sometimes a little luck. |

He is a middle of the pack QB that gets TONS of stats when it means nothing. The Vikings had a really good defense when he got there. And a pretty good offense. They thought he was the missing piece to a Super Bowl trophy. How did that work out for them? They are nowhere near the team they were prior to his arrival. Part of that is on Cousins and his guaranteed contract which at the time was the highest ever. |
Re: Around the League Week 2
Point being is circumstances of rookies contracts etc aside, nearly half the teams in the league would take em

maybe . . . never said he sucked . . . just that you had stated all but 4 or 6 . . . now its all but 13 - 15. big difference. |
